The Ancient Pieve of Mazzo has sceneries which vary from the bottom of the valley to high mountains thus offering a wide choice of sports activities to practise, cycling above all. At the Mortirolo Pass, on the Orobic side of the municipality of Mazzo, several champions have been protagonists of thrilling duels to conquer the “maglia rosa”, symbol of the victory at the Giro d’Italia. It is on this climb that it is now possible to pay respects to the unforgettable champion, loved equally by sportsmen and amateurs, either by following in his footsteps or standing in front of the statue erected in his honour. |
